ABOUT MOLLY FOSTER

Molly Foster is a concert photographer based out of Kansas City, Kansas. Ever since starting her photography career in 2016 by taking pictures of her friends and high-school sports, Foster has worked for several venues, media outlets, festivals, and magazines. Her first career push was taking photos at Vans Warped Tour in 2018 and covered The Maine Band, Issues, Senses Fail, and Harms Way. From there, she was accepted as a house photographer at The Truman in Kansas City where she shot for bands such as The Driver Era, The Wrecks, Andrew McMahon, and more. After building enough credibility as a concert photographer, Foster was hired on as a freelance photographer for Galaxy Magazine based out of Los Angeles. Through Galaxy Magazine, Foster covered even bigger shows. After shooting for Hoizer in 2019, her social media gained much more attraction and she was able to pursue her dream more than she ever thought. Alongside that, she was hired as the senior intern at The Rye Studio in Stillwell, Kansas where she was able to train more on Adobe programs, establish essential communication skills, learn how to work with clients, and more. During the pandemic there were no live shows so Foster focused on re-editing old photos while spending time at the studio. Starting college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2020, there were still not many concerts until her sophomore year. Once bands began touring again, Foster shot for Dead Poets Society, Badflower, Weathers, Aaron Taos, Okey Dokey, and more through Galaxy Magazine in the fall of 2021. At the Weathers concert, Foster met fellow concert photographer Mitch West where they began to collaborate and form the idea of Gallery Space Magazine. GSM incorporates all forms of local art to inspire collaboration and the culture of creativity. Through GSM, Foster has begun writing reviews, doing interviews, and networking with even more photographers, bands, and tour managers. In 2022, Foster shot for main stage acts Houndmouth, Bryce Vine, Valley, Nova Twins, Grandson, The Greeting Committee, Wolf Alice, Mat Kearney, Wallows, Arlie, Hippo Campus, Joe P, and Spacey Jane. Through those, she interviewed and reviewed Bryce Vine openers Gianna & Kyle, traveled to Chicago for Valley, was personally asked by lead singer Addie Sartino to cover the hometown show of The Greeting Committee, connected and did the pre-show promotional shoot for Arlie, and reviewed the Joe P and Spacey Jane shows. Also starting in 2022, Foster began doing promotional videos for a nightclub in Lincoln that has college nights to engage viewers and has successfully increased attendance through those. So far in 2023, Foster has shot and reviewed for Sammy Rash and Fitz & The Tantrums, created cover art for aspiring Nebraska-based singer Ryan Kenney’s first song release, and her and West have continued to develop Gallery Space.
